Mr Tran Trong Kien – General Director of Hai Au Aviation (HAA) said that Hai Au Aviation just had made a profit after 3 years since its first flight took off in September 2014.
Hai Au Aviation, an air taxi business model, was established in 2014. It takes short flight routes over hundreds of kilometres. Although this business model is pretty unique in Vietnam, it’s well known in the world.
3 years ago, three Cessna Caravan C208B-EX seaplane aircrafts landed at Noi Bai Airport, Vietnam after 60 hours flying from California. The purchasing cost of aircrafts, excluding the construction of landing stages and facilities, were up to 10 million USD (over 200 billion Vietnam Dong)
Kien said that everything could be changeable except safety. The first change of HAA was offering different prices to the customers. When seaplane service just had come to Vietnam market, the price of one way Hanoi – Ha Long was from 6 to 8 million Vietnam dong for a passenger. This pretty high amount would take much time to get acquainted with the market, thus Hai Au’s offered more flexible rates in which the tourists can experience the feeling of watching Ha Long Bay from above with the price of 2 million Vietnam Dong. During the 3 years of operation, HAA has always maintained a 5-star rating almost by the hundreds of tourists on TripAdvisor – the most popular tourism website in the world.
Hai Au Aviation has served 29,185 passengers and 3,475 flights during the last 3 years. It’s going to open more routes to new destinations such as Cat Ba, Co To, Ninh Binh…
