This commitment is vividly illustrated by the transformative journey of Phạm Minh Tuấn, General Manager of Victoria Châu Đốc and Victoria Núi Sam, two iconic hotels in An Giang Province. Tuấn’s story—from an English teacher to a seasoned hospitality leader—demonstrates how TMG nurtures talent, enabling individuals with determination and passion to achieve extraordinary success, no matter their starting point.

 

From Classroom to Hospitality: A Leap of Faith

Phạm Minh Tuấn’s journey with the hospitality industry began in 2001, marking a bold pivot from his roots as an English pedagogy graduate. After three years of teaching, where he honed skills in patience, empathy, and responsibility, Tuấn entered the hospitality industry with only his English proficiency as a foundation. Joining Victoria Châu Đốc with a beginner’s mindset, he embraced the challenge with enthusiasm and a relentless drive to learn.

Starting in entry-level roles—night auditor, guest guide, receptionist—Tuấn progressed over 15 years to front office supervisor, assistant front office manager, front office manager, and director of rooms. Immersed in every facet of hotel operations, he learned from colleagues and mentors, transforming challenges into opportunities. His ascent reflects TMG’s dedication to providing employees with diverse roles to develop their skills, regardless of prior experience.

A World of Opportunities Across TMG’s Network

Tuấn’s career within TMG showcases the group’s dynamic platform for professional growth. After his tenure at Victoria Châu Đốc, he managed Mai Châu Lodge and later Victoria Núi Sam for three years. His journey extended internationally to Victoria Xiengthong Palace in Luang Prabang, Laos, where he gained insights into global hospitality management, sharpening his adaptability across diverse environments.

A pivotal milestone was leading Victoria Mekong, a luxurious 4-star cruise operating between Vietnam and Cambodia. Managing a mobile hospitality operation demanded precision and an unwavering focus on guest satisfaction. Tuấn excelled, mastering the delivery of exceptional experiences while ensuring safety and comfort. His expertise grew further with Victoria Cruises, overseeing day and overnight trips along the Mekong Delta, honing his ability to craft memorable travel experiences.

TMG offered Mr. Pham Minh Tuan a bold chance to manage the Victoria Mekong Cruises on the Mekong River.

Now leading Victoria Châu Đốc and Victoria Núi Sam, Tuấn continues to channel the passion that fueled his early days. His journey—from a hospitality novice to a seasoned GM—underscores TMG’s culture of fostering growth through opportunity, mentorship, and hands-on learning.

Driving Success Through Commitment and Vision

Under Tuấn’s leadership, Victoria Châu Đốc and Victoria Núi Sam achieved remarkable success in 2024, welcoming record guest numbers and earning exceptional satisfaction ratings. Tuấn attributes this to TMG’s focus on empowering employees to harness their skills and enthusiasm. The seasoned team, many with over 20 years of service, deeply understands the local market, enabling them to deliver tailored, high-quality experiences.

In 2025, Tuấn is driving sustainable growth, positioning An Giang as a hub for cultural and adventure tourism. By promoting attractions like Núi Sam, Châu Đốc Market, traditional craft villages, and unique culinary offerings, he aims to extend guest stays and create lasting memories. TMG’s investment in infrastructure and employee development supports these goals, ensuring staff are equipped with cultural knowledge and skills to deliver authentic experiences.

To build on this momentum, at the group level, TMG recently launched the TMG Management Training 2025 program in June 2025. This initiative equips employees with leadership skills through mentorship, hands-on projects, and strategic training, preparing them to navigate complex challenges and drive innovation across TMG’s portfolio. The program ensures TMG’s continued leadership in delivering world-class hospitality. Two hospitality members, originally from Victoria Châu Đốc and Victoria Núi Sam Lodge, made their names on the short list.

“TMG has opened doors I never imagined possible,” Tuấn shares. “Each role, from guiding guests to leading a luxury cruise, has taught me the power of passion and the value of support in achieving results.”

Starting as an “outsider” in hospitality, he turned challenges into stepping stones, learning from every role and environment. Beyond his professional achievements, Tuấn’s passion for running mirrors his work ethic. A dedicated marathon runner, he has completed 21 km and 30 km, respectively, with plans for a full marathon. “Running keeps me sharp,” he says. “Like my work at TMG, every step builds resilience and focus.”

TMG also led Mr. Pham Minh Tuan to Hoi An’s marathon races.
