The second Hue Tourism Advisory Board discusses the potential development of Hue Tourism

On December 12th, 2018, the 2nd working session of Hue Tourism Advisory Board (HTAB) took place in Laguna Lang Co Resort. The session was chaired by the Chairman of the Thua Thien Hue Provincial People’s Committee Phan Ngoc Tho along with the Chairman of the Board of Directors cum Director General of Thien Minh Group (Chairman of HTAB) Tran Trong Kien and the Founder cum Chairman of Banyan Tree Holdings and Resorts Pte (Vice Chairman of HTAB) Ho Kwon Ping.

Not only the Decision on the HTAB members was announced, but also the HTAB Operation Regime was officially promulgated at the working session. Besides, delegates discussed activities to specify ideas proposed in the first working session to contribute to the development of local tourism. According to the Chairman of HTAB Tran Trong Kien, Hue tourism needs to (1) focus on deploying scenic seaplane flight from Hue Citadel to Central region (deployed by Hai Au Aviation) (2) do a survey on the capacity of establishing flights from Bangkok Airport to Phu Bai International Airport so that Thailand tourists, as well as foreign tourists who transit through Thailand, may easily access to Hue Citadel and Central region (proposed by Thai AirAsia) (3) provide consultancy on advertising Hue destinations with the support from the board. The HTAB also recommended the province to focus on developing local products, analyze market demand, give the priority to special experience and facilitate the development of local enterprises.

Speaking at the working session, Chairman of the Thua Thien Hue Provincial People’s Committee Phan Ngoc Tho emphasized that Hue is making every effort to promote the HTAB’s activities. In addition, the province would seriously consider the ideas and advice to make Hue become a well-known destination which is clearly addressed as well as attracts global tourists.
