Thien Minh Group and the Amcham Scholars Program

Thien Minh Group and the Amcham Scholars Program

Nine years ago, AmCham began a multi-year program to recognize outstanding final-year undergraduate students in Hanoi who demonstrate leadership through academic performance, community involvement, extracurricular activities, and possess good English-language skills. The purpose of the program is to help their members find high-quality future employees and to demonstrate their long-term commitment to Vietnam and its young people.

The program is managed by the AmCham Executive Director, with active input and participation from a number of former scholarship winners and human resources professionals. AmCham member companies receive immediate benefit from participating because they get access to the resume databank and an opportunity for personal interaction with 60 finalists. Their goal is to choose students that will become productive team members of AmCham member companies in the future.

AmCham Scholars receive a cash award, a job skills training course taught by American business leaders in Hanoi, admission to the AmCham Scholars Alumni Club, resume exposure to the HR departments of their member companies, priority for AmCham internship positions, and invitations to various AmCham activities and volunteer opportunities throughout the year.

Thien Minh Group (TMG) is pleased to be one of the sponsors for 2017 Amcham Scholars Program. Mr. Ho Viet Ha – Deputy General Director of TMG said at the Ceremony to award 20 new Amcham Scholars and 20 runner-ups: “We know that the Amcham Scholarship Program aims to develop the business environment in Vietnam. It does so by identifying high quality people for AmCham members and providing students – the potential young members of the future – with the necessary knowledge and skills before entering the professional working environment. One of 05 (five) core values of Thien Minh Group (TMG) is responsibility. Responsibility here, is encapsulated in business ethics, in our honesty with partners and our devotion to customers. Furthermore, there is huge responsibility for us in the attention and care that we give to the social community in general, and particularly for the young people entering the business. We always understand the importance of the connection between businesses and schools, and therefore how they must work closely together in order to meet the practical requirements of our business. Hence, through the scholarship program of AmCham, we look forward to contributing to the selection, training and promotion of excellent students at universities in Vietnam. I am also looking forward to welcoming the students as the future colleagues at TMG”
