“I think this termination has been mutually advantageous. We can focus on building our own airline whereas AirAsia carries on with their upcoming plans.” – said Tran Trong Kien, Chairman & CEO of Thien Minh Group
Kien also emphasized the end of this partnership was not a failure. “We both have put a lot of effort into the project. However, there were also unfavorable things happened during the period of working together that lead us to come to a stop after having considered exhaustively. Although the transaction was not completed, we have learned a lot of ways to work – and this is also considered a success.” He said.
“However, this does not mean that TMG will remove airline from our business lines. We are keeping on it in a different way that works with our strengths and conditions. We may have another opportunity to partner with AirAsia on another field but not necessarily aviation.”
Could you please share more specifically the reason for the termination?
“Lately people have been also asking me a lot; however, the best time to answer this question is in the next 2 or 3 years. In my point of view, currently, this termination has been mutually advantageous. TMG is able to focus on building our own aviation whereas AirAsia carries on with their upcoming plans.”
