Aboard the Emeraude Classic, guests are invited to go on their dream journey featuring an amazing array of unique, can’t-miss experiences, including Titov Island, Sung Sot Cave, and a floating pearl village.
Titov Island is home to a crescent, white-sand beach that hugs the island. There’s even a viewing platform offering sweeping vistas, usually reserved for drones or Hai Au seaplanes. Titov Island is truly a precious gem in the middle of the deep green sea.
Sung Sot Cave is also known by its French name, “Grotte de la surprise”, or cave of surprises. This large cave is home to stone formations of all shapes and sizes, created by Mother Nature. There are formations that resemble animals, and even the mythical folk hero Thanh Giong riding a horse with sword in hand.
The floating pearl village in Halong Bay is the first village to culture pearls in Northeastern Vietnam. Visitors can learn about the process of culturing pearls from seeding to harvesting the final product. The floating village is also where guests can rent kayaks to explore the bay’s clear green waters.
In addition to sightseeing activities, guests might be surprised to find a cooking class waiting for them right on board. During the 30-minute interactive class, guests of all ages can learn how to prepare traditional Vietnamese dishes known all over the world.
As night falls on the bay and the Emeraude sparkles in the night, guests can experience the world of cinema with “Indochine”, named Best International Feature Film at the 65th Academy Awards in 1993. In the tranquil setting of the restaurant aboard the Emeraude, “Indochine” transports viewers to a period of Vietnam’s history amongst rubber plantations and a love story for the ages.
Night squid fishing is another activity on offer for those with lots of patience and concentration. Once the bright squid lights are turned on, it’s time to relax and lose yourself in the vast ocean and sky, rehashing all the day’s activities over a refreshing cocktail, waiting for Lady Luck to work her magic.
Signature cuisine on board
The cuisine aboard the Emeraude is a true highlight for many cruisers. With an extensive menu featuring dishes that span from Europe to Asia, the restaurant aboard the Emeraude Classic serves up delectable feasts in a cozy yet stylish setting. The Captain Suite’s is located in the Sundeck area of the ship. The warm browns of the wooden floors, the bedside décor and the artistic photos of the elegant Emeraude on Halong Bay combine to create an elegant setting inspired by Indochina. The Captain’s Suite is the ideal choice for families vacationing together.
Named after the owner of the original Emeraude, the intimate Paul Roque Suite recalls the golden era of Indochina with wood floors and vintage photos of Halong Bay and the Emeraude. With a private balcony and sun loungers to enjoy the beautiful weather on the bay, this suite is perfect couples.
Located on Deck 3, the spacious, well-appointed Emeraude Suite has a sofa sitting area where the entire family can enjoy relaxing moments sailing through the majestic natural scenery of the bay.
Deluxe cabins are located on Deck 2. Compact and simple in design, the comfortable cabins have windows looking out to the sea for a quiet, relaxing stay ideal for solo travelers or friends who enjoy their private space.
