Fresh water system
Designed and built in Vietnam, the “green” 4-star Victoria Mekong Cruises is equipped with a fresh water purification system capable of turning water from the Mekong River into clean, drinkable water. After going through the filtration process, the water is stored in the main fresh water tanks to service the entire ship. The water is further treated through a reverse osmosis system and UV sterilizer unit before being pumped into the water refilling stations.
Towards a plastic-free ship
In an effort to eliminate tourism-related plastic waste, Victoria Mekong Cruises provides complimentary reusable water bottles in each cabin as well as refilling stations on each deck to serve passengers and staff. The ship also uses washable trash bin liners and does not use plastic straws, bags or food containers.
Wastewater treatment system
Victoria Mekong Cruises is equipped with a Wartsila Hamworthy wastewater treatment system that meets the highest environmental protection standards set out by the International Maritime Organization (IMO). All wastewater from showers, sinks, drains and washing machines flows into wastewater tanks located on the lower deck to be treated by this state-of-the-art wastewater treatment system.
