TMG – Departing Hanoi, the group of media representatives and photographers from around Northern Vietnam was brimming with excitement to experience the unique culture of the country’s Northwest, as hosted by Mai Chau Lodge on a press trip entitled “From the Beginning.”

Thien Minh Group (TMG) organized the 3-day, 2-night press trip from June 11 to 13. Participants stayed at Mai Chau Lodge in the town of Mai Chau in Hoa Binh province. Writers and editors from major Vietnamese newspapers and travel magazines, as well as well-regarded KOC photographers, joined the press trip themed “From the Beginning.”

The 3-day, 2-night “From the Beginning” itinerary included many unique activities and experiences, which presented opportunities for the writers, editors, and photographers to immerse themselves in the nature, culture, and people of Mai Chau at Mai Chau Lodge.

Nestled in the middle of the rice fields of Mai Chau Valley, Mai Chau Lodge treated members of the press to a host of engaging activities, such as exploring the natural hot springs at Bo Am and a morning kayaking trip in search of blooming pink water lilies on Mo Luong Lake.

In addition to relaxing in the lodge’s essential oil-infused steam room, sauna, and state-of-the-art jacuzzi, the media members were also able to get close to nature in the lodge’s stylish glamping facilities.

Delving into the local culture of Mai Chau, the press delegation experienced traditional local games like spinning tops, walking on stilts, and stick throwing. They were also able to observe ethnic Thai singing and dancing, including the traditional Keng Loong dance, recognized as a national intangible cultural heritage, and musical performances accompanied by traditional woodwind instruments found in northwestern Vietnam. Participants were also treated to specialties of Mai Chau, courtesy of Bo Luong Restaurant, helping them further appreciate the rustic yet enchanting beauty of Mai Chau, along with its wonderful culture and friendly people.
